DirectBuy of Boston South Helps Homes For Our Troops and Sgt. Brian Fountaine

November 21st, 2007: Sgt. Brian Fountaine met with DirectBuy of Boston South's owner, John Massaria, and their in-house Cabinet Designer Kim McMann for one mission: to design his dream Kitchen. John Massaria went on to explain, "I want you and Mary [his fiance] to pick out your dream kitchen. Pick out any door style, any kind of wood species. We want Kim, our custom kitchen designer, to include any options you want or need. The sky's the limit." Sgt. Fountaine selected full overlay, floor-to-ceiling traditional raised-panel Maple doors in an Amaretto Creme Glaze. He also selected a Classic Shaker solid-panel door made of Natural Hickory for one bathroom vanity, and a Nutmeg-Glazed Hickory for the second bathroom vanity. These are high-quality, American-made cabinets constructed with an all-plywood box. All drawers were full extension, including dove-tail joinery and Smart-Stop closing. "There wasn't an option missed, and I wouldn't have it any other way," said John. "The retail price for all the cabinetry came in around $28,750. When we told Brian that DirectBuy members only pay the cost price for their merchandise here, he was curious as to how much cost actually was. Since he was recieving the cabinetry as a donation, we shared it with him. His jaw dropped when we explained that members' cost would have been $8,100 including all fees & taxes. "He wanted to talk to John," said Kim. Brian said to John, "I really want a membership here. I have a lot of other things I need." After Massaria showed him around, pricing out a few other examples of things such as mattresses and couches, Brian and Mary became members. "It was never my intention to sell him a membership," said John, "but I could easily see how DirectBuy can really help, and that's really what this whole thing is about."

One of the MasterBrand bathroom vanities donated by DirectBuy. Made entirley of Hickory, this vanity would have cost a lot of money out in the stores, but since members pay the Manufacturer's Cost, it's a lot better than the discount even contractors who build homes get.
Brian & Mary were able to choose from OVER 200 furniture manufacturers at DirectBuy of Boston South. Both of them fell in love with this set and knew it was the one. They purchased it direct, and saved over $2400 compared with sale prices at retail stores. They also purchased their all-organic mattress, bedding and pillows at DirectBuy of Boston South, saving $2600.The Bamboo flooring is a green product, which they selelected from one of the many DirectBuy vendors. For anyone considering bamboo-you have to see it to believe it-it is truly beautiful.
